Mike Aicher, CEO & Chairman
Mr. Aicher is on the Board of Omicia, Inc and Genetic Signatures. He is the co-founder and former CEO of National Genetics Institute, now a wholly owned subsidiary of LabCorp. Mr. Aicher led LabCorp’s Esoteric Business Units, which generated more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Prior to NGI, Mr. Aicher served in a number of executive leadership roles at Central Diagnostics Laboratory. He is certified by the University of California at Berkeley as a Global Biotechnology Executive and is a recipient of Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for emerging technologies.
James Valentine, Co-Founder & Director
Mr. Valentine is the President and Chairman of Valentine & Company. His particular expertise involves the organization, governance and financing of emerging growth companies involved in technology infrastructure and services. He has served in a variety of key management positions as well as a financier and investor. Mr. Valentine was a General Partner of Montgomery Securities, serving as Managing Director of the Corporate Finance Technology Group. Mr. Valentine serves on the boards of directors of a variety of technology companies both public and private. Mr. Valentine practiced law in San Francisco specializing in financial transactions.
Paul Billings, MD Chief Science Officer & Director
Dr. Billings is a well known medical geneticist. In addition to Kinetic Diagnostics, he also currently advises Johnson & Johnson and is the consulting CMO of Omicia, Inc. Prior to Omicia, he was CMO at Life Technologies, acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. Before that he was founding and acting Director and CSO of the Genomic Medicine Institute at El Camino Hospital. Dr. Billings served as President, CEO and Director of CELLective Dx Corporation. He is a Founder of CBR Systems Inc., and GeneSage Inc. Dr. Billings was also SVP and Senior Geneticist at LabCorp. He is currently a Director at Trovagene and CollabRx. Dr. Billings currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the FDA, the Genomic Medicine Advisory Committee at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, and the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Genomics.
Trisha Brown, Co-Founder & Director
Ms. Brown has a passion for personalized medicine and genomics. Over the course of two decades she has been at the forefront of the genomics industry by commercializing cutting edge genetic testing and creating new service delivery models in the laboratory, direct to consumer, and pharmacy benefit manager (PBMS) industries. Ms. Brown has developed expertise in operations, commercialization, payer issues, and regulatory compliance. She is a board certified, licensed genetic counselor. Before co-founding Kinetic Diagnostics, Ms. Brown was Vice President of Clinical Services for Omicia, Vice President of Clinical Affairs for DNA Direct, a Medco Healthcare Solutions Company, and was the Associate Vice President of Strategic Commercialization of New Technology for LabCorp. She is a former board member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, and maintains active membership in the American College of Medical Genetics and the American College of Sports Medicine. She obtained her Masters Degree in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College and her Bachelors of Science in Genetics from UC Davis.
